Okay so this is unexpected... I've decided to keep this blobby, simplistic shading I did in Gimp for these dark scenes, and use it for the entirety of the comic.

After how jarring it was to have the lights come on and switch back to the flat style of the past pages I realized it might be better to keep experimenting with this simplistic shading outside of specific scenes, and hopefully improve it as I go along.

I mean it's definitely far from perfect, but I still feel it'll add to the comic without any negative affect, so fuck it. LET'S ROLL!

Something I'm curious about: do the lights run on Mana or something, or is there electricity in Chrona?

@The_Hankerchief: Pretty much both. Mana acts as an electricity-esque power source on Chrona.
Most of it is the work of Megaton Nine, some of it preserved tech like the Gate used to get from the Castle to the city, some of it known from salvaged notes and blueprints that survived the Crisis, like the lighting and heating systems in Adamantia and Ethereal.
(In case you were ever curious as to how it can snow right outside of Reina's room without freezing her out; Mana heating, baby!)
I haven't gotten around to whipping up a Lore page for it yet, though I really should stop procrastinating to save readers confusion... Not that I'm sure many of them read those little extras. I guess ideally I should try to fit a Mana tech primer in the story somewhere.

But yeah. Long story short you could call Chrona a "Manapunk" setting.

I saw the word "Manapunk" and was suddenly filled with visions of people dressed up like Final Fantasy/Tales Of Symphonia characters hanging out at the Fifth Avenue Mall in downtown Anchorage.

That sounds like Manapunk, right?

@The_Hankerchief: Nailed it.
